Rainy Day and Happy Plants!

 
Its been a misty/rainy day in Southern California today, and I just like love days like these! I wonder if I love them as much as my garden does?! My roses were glistening with little drops of water, my hibiscus flowers looked brighter than ever, and my tomato plant is bearing some lovely green tomatoes, they should be RED-y soon! (bad joke- I have a lot of those) Lets just hope I get to the tomatoes before the snails do. I have such a hard time using snail killer, some people may think it's silly- but they are such slow moving, defenseless little creatures! I'd rather race them to my ripe tomatoes ;)

I have been listening to a ton of Billy Joel and Bob Dylan today, I consider it sort of my "rainy day soundtrack." Do you have a certain artist/album you like to listen to on a gloomy day?

Hope you're staying warm and (somewhat) dry wherever you are! As for me, I'm off to jump in some puddles with the kids, learning to live a little.

Wishful Wednesday!

This week I fell in love with these adorable Verve Flutes (I love my Champagne, what can I say!) from Crate & Barrel. They are somewhat contemporary looking, which is not always my style, but I just love the bubble look.  The longer/thicker stem also makes it much easier to hold without warming your champagne.

Lets talk about the Sunburst Frame in Gold from Z Gallerie. Need I say more? Its chic, and just lovely. In case it is hard to tell from the photo, this is a carved wooden frame. This is definitely going on my Christmas list.

Last, but certainly not least, the Boogie Board Memo from Brookstone. This is pure genius- like most items from Brookstone. The Boogie Board is an ultra-thin LCD writing screen for taking notes, jotting down ideas, phone numbers, you name it! It is erasable at the touch of a button (but not by swiping little toddler fingers!), and the best part- you have the option of also using good old-fashion sticky notes if necessary. I love the idea of cutting back on paper waste, this item is one of a kind!

Addicted! To coffee.

The Holidays are coming upon us so, so quickly. I swear it was just Halloween! I have a major coffee addiction, one which is mostly filled with bold flavored coffees. I get really excited this time of year for all of the seasonal coffee creamer flavors, and my all-time-favorite GINGERBREAD COOKIE FLAVORED COFFEE. Thats right, it definitely required caps lock. It is incredibly delicious, and makes my home smell like I've been up since 6 am baking! (ha!)

This morning was a wild one, with a hyper 3 year old boy on my hands, and the large amount of overdue laundry screaming for my attention, 2 cups of coffee just didn't cut it! So the 2 o'clock slump rolled around, and I decided I would treat myself...once again, with some more coffee...or dessert, you decide!


Yes, that clock is accurate. So what? Being a mother is exhausting, let alone just being a WOMAN!


This might seem like total flavor-overload to some of you.  I know we don't know each other well enough yet, but just trust me. I don't know why or how these flavors work so beautifully together, but they just do, alright?! The White Chocolate Mocha creamer, with Gingerbread Cookie coffee, and a swirl of Peppermint Whipped Cream- heaven in a cup. Here's a better view of the finished product.



Now tell me that doesn't look mouth-watering! I hope you Live a little and make yourself a well deserved coffee "dessert" before the holidays come and go. I think I might have to stock up on that coffee so I can enjoy it all year long!
